Puberty Halting Drug... ARE YOU KIDDING ME??

That's right! There is actually talk of a puberty halting drug in order to give gender confused young people more time to decide which gender they want to be. You can read about it by going to the address below.

Wow... I would never thought I would see this day. Teens actually having to decide what gender they're going to be like what college they're going to. And what makes it 1000 times worse, parents and professionals are actually going along with it. Unbelievable! What a sad and morally bankrupt world we're living in today. Jesus come soon!!!

This Sickens Me to No End

You know something is terribly screwed up in our country when a parent takes a toddler or child to the doctor's office for a common problem or routine check up, and just because the child may have a small bruise or scrap somewhere, and immediately the parent is looked at with suspicion.

And yet the same time, Planned Parenthood is protecting child rapists all the time! This kind of blatant illegal behavior just absolutely infuriates me!!

Copy the following and paste it in the window (can't remember how to make a link)

I Never Thought I'd Actually Win

Photobucket

As most boys, my little guys love trains, and I have to admit that I like them too. So, recently I have decided to start collecting the Thomas the Train Wooden Railway collection. They're great little toys, plus they were created by a pastor for his son. I think that is real neat. The stories and videos with Thomas and Friends are really good too... teaching good values and things.

So, the other day I was playing around on ebay. My very first time on ebay. And so I started bidding on something. They're were a lot of people bidding and the price was pretty cheap for what we were bidding on so, I never actually thought I'd win. Well, you can probably guess... I did win! I was shocked. This was the item I won... my very first piece. It is the Thomas the Train Deluxe Roundhouse.

I know some people think I'm silly... a 32 year old man collecting toys, but everyone has some type of hobby. Plus think about it this way... if I collect 1-2 pieces a year, just think how awesome a train set I will have when God gives us grandchildren. They will always want to come to Grandpa's house! (hehe.) Eventually, I like to get all the videos too.

I Love his Curious Little Mind

The other morning, after our morning devotion, somehow Caleb and I got on the subject of angels. I asked him if he knew what they were. Of course he didn't. But he does know what soldiers are, and he knows all about swords, shields, and fighting and all that stuff.

Well, I began to tell him about the angels of God... I told him how they were strong and powerful soldiers in God's army and how they could fly very fast and far because of their great wings... and how they fought against the wicked spirits in the world. As I told him all this and more, it was so cool to watch his little eyes come alive with excitement and wonder.

For the rest of the morning, he took a little plastic figure that was supposed to be a wise man in a navitity scene, and pretended it was an angel. It was really cool. I know one day that wonder and awe will be gone, so I'm going to enjoy it now. He's so curious... thats why I really try to entertain all of his questions as good, honest questions, because I know he's learning. And hopefully, he's learning not only a lot about the world, but that his Daddy loves him enough to take time to explain anything to him.

By the way, the photo on my profile is of me reading a Bible story to my boys. We try to read a Bible story and have prayer together every morning. It's really cool now because if I'm slow getting there... Caleb reminds me, "Daddy, we have to have our devotion!" Who can ask for more?

Still Wrestling with Santa

The other day Caleb (my 4 year old) looked at me and said, "Daddy, I want to see Santa Claus." I said, "why?" "Because he brings us presents."

It took everything within me at that moment from saying... "No. Santa does not bring us presents. Everything we have comes from Jesus!" But I didn't. I just sorta played it off by saying, "Really?" And then I just dropped it and so did he.

I know, I know... some of you are thinking I'm utterly foolish for making a big deal out of this, but I just can't help it. Christmas is one of the most important Christian holidays in the year. During this time, we remember and celebrate probably the greatest miracle to have ever taken place... The Incarnation (God becoming man)... to come and be our Savior!! And what do we do in the church? We wrap it all up with lies and myths about some jolly old man in a red suit who gives presents to all good little boys and girls. I can understand why non-believers would emphasize this fairy tale... for them what else is there? But why do we, as Christians do it? There is so much more to Christmas!! Why do we have try to maintain this whole Santa thing?

And what makes it so hard is the fact that so many Christian parents do it. If I tell my kids the truth, and then they go and tell everyone in Sunday school... I'm going to have a lot of mad parents at me. So, what do I do? Nothing. I just let this myth contine. So frustrating!

I have often thought how great it would be if we, as the church, were as devoted to our faith as many Jews are to theirs. Their religious identity is so unique and well-protected, that they don't worry about Santa or get caught up in all the commercialism of Christmas. I sincerely believe we could learn a lesson from their example.
